RivCoParks is proud to host a variety of free events as part of its Outdoor Equity Initiative, designed to make nature and recreation accessible to everyone. These events provide opportunities for individuals and families to connect with the outdoors, often for the first time. Highlights include free camping packages for first-time campers, and engaging Saturday themed events. By removing barriers and creating welcoming spaces, RivCoParks is fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural beauty and resources in our community.

Hidden Valley Nature Center

RivCoParks Library Pass Program

Time spent in outdoor spaces improves physical, social, spiritual, and emotional health. The “Nature Gap” is where communities have historically been left out of these spaces due to a combination of racial and economic disparities. RivCoParks is committed to reducing the “Nature Gap” by introducing the RivCoParks Library Pass. The Library Pass Program aims to provide greater inclusion and access to the outdoors by removing one of the economic barriers faced by various communities.

Idyllwild NATURE CENTER One of the best places to go every time you visit Idyllwild! Visit on Saturdays for expert-run nature walks and fun activities. Located 1 mile northwest of Idyllwild on Highway 243, Idyllwild Nature Center has 5+ miles of hiking trails, a picnic area, indoor and outdoor activities for kids, gardens, and a museum.
